nuno on the studioNuno Fernandes, born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1975, studied at St. Julian’s School in Carcavelos, and at the early age of six he began his musical education under Maestro César Batalha. At around fifteen years old he discovered the guitar and began his studies in Classical guitar completing the first level of Trinity College of Music in 1992.

While attending Instituto Superior Técnico to pursue his studies in Industrial Engineering and Management, he kept furthering is studies of the electric guitar. Realizing that in order to be happy he had to follow his passion for music, he completes a summer program at the prestigious Berklee College of Music.

Upon returning to Portugal he starts working at AudioPro, a renowned professional audio dealer, where he learns the basics about studio gear. Reaching the furthest possible in the company, Nuno leaves it and works as a language tester for videogame giant Electronic Arts, for about two years.

He then returns to Berklee to follow his passion for audio engineering and production. Nuno graduated Music Production and Engineering with honours, after being on the Dean’s List for all the semesters while working at the Office of External Affairs.

After graduation, he temporarily moves to Los Angeles where he was able to observe Kevin Shirley in the studio as well as collaborate with Pablo Munguía on projects like the 37th Annual American Music Awards and the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards.

Since returning to Boston, Nuno has been involved in many projects ranging the genres of jazz, indie-pop, tango, and middle-eastern influenced fusion. He also finds time to assist on the production, recording, and mixing of some tracks for the Red vs. Blue: Revelations soundtrack and participate in remix contests on Indaba Music, where he has been awarded several honourable mentions.

Nuno is always looking forward to the next challenge and is looking brightly for the future!
